The State Transit Authority of New South Wales is the government owned authority responsible for the operations of Sydney Buses and Newcastle Buses & Ferries.
Boasting one of the largest and most modern fleets in Australia, State Transit manages one of the largest bus operations of any city in the world.
In Sydney & Newcastle, we service more than 200 million passengers every year. We have the largest fleet of buses in Australia, comprising more than 1,900 buses and we also operate ferries in Newcastle.
State Transit is committed to the NSW Government's State Plan.
Western Sydney Buses
Sydney's first rapid T-way service is operated by Western Sydney Buses, a subsidiary of State Transit.
The Liverpool-Parramatta T-way (LPT) was the first link in the transitway (T-way) network that opened in February 2003.
